RINO ALERT - John Kasich - Governor of Ohio
July 21, 2013
Jim Merritt
A RINO ALERT has been issued for the Ohio area. John Kasich can be classified as a RINO based on the following actions;
1. As a representative of Congress he voted for the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act (HR 4092), also known as the Assault Weapons Ban, on April 21, 1994. This bill is unconstitutional because it directly violates the Second Amendment of the US Constitution.
2. As a representative of Congress he voted for the African Growth Bill (HR 1432) on March 11, 1998 which would have provided funds (650 million) to African nations in order to promote sustainable economic growth for them. This bill is constitutional as Article I, Section 8 of the US Constitution does not grant Congress the power to spend money on foreign aid.
3. As a representative of Congress he voted for the Medicare Rx bill (HR 4680) on June 28, 2000 which would have expanded the system of Medicare and provide free prescription drugs to people below 135% of the poverty line. This bill is unconstitutional as Article I, Section 8 of the US Constitution does not grant Congress the power to set up an entitlement program plan such as Medicare.
4. As a representative of Congress he voted for HIV/AIDS funding (H Amdt 983) on July 13, 2000. This would have added $40 million dollars toward fighting HIV/AIDS for children. This bill is unconstitutional as Article I, Section 8 of the US Constitution does not grant Congress the power to spend money on medical programs.
5. As governor of Ohio in February of 2013 he proposed to raise taxes on oil and gas companies by raising the amount of severance taxes that they pay. This goes against the principles of limited government and works against the principles of a free market economy.
6. As governor of Ohio in February of 2013 he proposed to comply with a provision of ObamaCare to expand Medicaid in Ohio. The expansion of welfare programs such as Medicaid goes against the principles of a limited government. The underlying law (ObamaCare) is also unconstitutional as Article I, Section 8 of the US Constitution does not grant Congress the power to spend money on medical programs. Because this law is unconstitutional at the federal level the governor of Ohio should do everything possible to nullify this law but instead Governor Kasich decided to comply with the law and expand Medicaid in Ohio.
RINO Alerts News

This news section will focus on keeping track of Republicans and making sure that they either support the Constitution or are replaced in the next election. There are plenty of Democrats willing to destroy the Constitution and what it stands for so we don't need any Republicans that claim to be conservatives helping them along in the name of compromise. People must take the time to contact their elected officials and let them know when they are violating the Constitution or working against the principles of a limited government. When elected officials work against the principles of freedom and liberty they must be replaced.
